Almost one whole month into the new year and the Tories are still doing their best to look out for their own interests at the expense of ordinary people and and communities up and down the country, at the expense of young people up and down the country.  But this dark Tory night is not endless as I’ve said many times before and I predict that with confidence and a lot of hard work, 2023 will be the last full year of the Tory government, assuming the Tories don’t delay the next general election to the last possible moment: January 2025.

It won’t just be the last full year if the Tory grip on Britain however, it will be the last full year of the Tory grip on North Northumberland too.  Whether our local Tory MP Anne-Marie Trevelyan is voted out in the next election or not, one thing is certain: it will not be an easy journey for her.

Labour is rising in North Northumberland with successful events in Alnwick, Amble and Berwick-upon-Tweed paving the way for more success in the future.  As our presence, so too does our support and strength against the Tories both locally and nationally.

There is one key demographic who are vital to all of this however: youth.

Young people are the future of North Northumberland and Britain and it is vital that their voices are heard and that they are properly represented.  As youth officer for the Berwick-upon-Tweed Constituency (North Northumberland) Labour Party, it is my job to ensure that.

To that end, I have put together a survey to learn more about the challenges facing young people and if the current political system represents them at all or if it has let them down.  This survey is vital for the Labour Party in North Northumberland to keep up to date with the everyday issues affecting young people.  So if you’re aged between 16 and 30, please fill out this short two-minute survey.  It’s completely anonymous and will help us greatly in our efforts to help you and give you a strong voice both locally and nationally.
